Cookie Policy
Last updated: February 28, 2026
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit, such as your preferred language and other settings, which can make future visits easier and the site more useful to you.
2. How InsightEdit Uses Cookies
InsightEdit uses cookies for the following purposes:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-access-token | Essential | Supabase authentication session token | Session |
| sb-refresh-token | Essential | Supabase refresh token for re-authentication | 1 year |
| _plausible | Analytics | Privacy-first analytics (no cross-site tracking) | Session |
| insightedit-theme | Preference | Remembers light/dark mode selection | 1 year |
| __stripe_mid | Third-party | Stripe fraud prevention | 1 year |
3. Essential Cookies
These cookies are strictly necessary for the Service to function. They manage your authenticated session and security tokens. Without them, core features such as logging in, saving content, and accessing your dashboard would not work. Because they are essential, they cannot be disabled.
4. Analytics Cookies
We use analytics cookies (e.g. via Plausible Analytics, which is privacy-focused and does not use cross-site tracking) to understand how visitors interact with the platform. This helps us identify popular features and areas for improvement. Analytics cookies do not track you across other websites.
5. Preference Cookies
Preference cookies remember choices you make (such as theme selection or dismissed notices) so you do not have to re-enter them on each visit.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Some third-party services we integrate with (e.g. Stripe for payments) may set their own cookies. These are governed by the respective third party's privacy and cookie policies. We do not control third-party cookies.
7. Managing Cookies
You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish. You can delete all cookies that are already on your device and set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. However, disabling essential cookies will break key functionality such as authentication.
Most browsers allow you to manage cookie settings via the browser menu. Popular browser guides:
• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
• Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Cookies
• Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
8. Do Not Track
Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” (DNT) signals to websites. InsightEdit currently honours DNT signals for analytics cookies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of insightedit.com constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
